The first map describes how notable modern homes have spread out east after the SCH was built while still remaining at the base of the hills around Hollywood and Los Feliz. It is also important to mention the general lack of modern homes being built in the later 30's due to the great depression.
The second map describes how modern homes were concentrated in the general Los Angeles area after the SCH was built, and later expanded north and south into San Francisco and San Diego.
